RESOLUTION
RE: AMENDMENT TO THE WELD COUNTY PERSONNEL MANUAL CONCERNING
50-25 PLAN.
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on March 7 , 1979 , the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado adopted a resolution concerning the modi-
fication of normal working hours to increase productive time in
the Road and Bridge Department, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to amend
the Weld County Personnel Manual to reflect said modification of
normal working hours in the Road and Bridge Department by adding
the following to the "Work in Excess of Scheduled Work Week and
Holiday Compensation. " :
"50-25 Plan for Road and Bridge Department.
The following provisions in regard to work
hours shall apply within the Road and Bridge
Department:
1. The Divisions of Construction, Bridge,
and Paving and Aggregate shall , during
the month of May through October, have
a normal work day of ten (10) hours per
day and a normal work week of fifty (50)
hours per week; and the Weld County
Engineer may, at his discretion, reduce
the number of hours worked per week so
as to maximize productive hours.
2 . All Divisions other than Construction,
Bridge, and Paving and Aggregate within
the Road and Bridge Department shall have
a normal work week of forty (40) hours
per week, except that the Weld County
Engineer shall have the discretion to
increase the hours normally worked per
day and normally worked per week so as
to increase the operating efficiency of
such Division.
3. Such hours of employment of the Road and
Bridge Department employees may, at the
discretion of the Weld County Engineer,
begin prior to 8 :00 o' clock a.m. and
end later than 5 :00 o'clock p.m. so as to
reach maximum scheduling capability.
4 . Compensation time. Within the operational
requirement of the Road and Bridge Depart-
ment, overtime accumulated during the summer
hours shall normally be taken during the
months of November through April , during

which time the employees of the Road and
Bridge Department shall work only twenty-
five (25) hours per week until such time
as all overtime accumulated during the
summer months has expired.
5. Employees in the Construction, Bridge, and
Paving and Aggregate Divisions shall , during
the week that contains the holiday July 4 ,
not work during that such week but accumu-
lated overtime shall be used in its place .
6 . The provisions of this section regarding the
50-25 Plan shall apply not withstanding any
other provisions in the Personnel Manual to
the contrary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the amendments to the
Weld County Personnel Manual as hereinabove stated be, and
hereby are, adopted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 25th day of
April, A.D. , 1979 .

Working Hours
All Weld County offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. , Monday through
Friday. Some offices may be open longer or at varying hours as required to
meet County needs.
Full time employees work a 40 hour week, not including scheduled lunch
periods. In providing service to the County, the Department Head arranges
working hours which may differ from those when the offices are open.
Employees working an eight hour day receive , and are expected to take
sixty minutes for lunch. Lunch hours will vary according to an employee's
work schedule. At the supervisor's discretion, employees working four
consecutive hours are entitled to one 15 minute break if it does not disrupt
work flow. Breaks not taken may not be accumulated or used at the beginning
or end of the day.
Work in Excess of Scheduled Work Week and Holiday Compensation
Employees who are required to work in excess of regular hours or work
during national holidays are entitled to overtime compensation of 11/2 times
their hourly pay rate. Employees required to work beyond normally scheduled
work hours may receive an equal amount of time off (hour for hour) within
the same pay period the additional work is performed. Overtime compensa-
tion will only be paid with the Board of County Commissioners ' approval , which
is contingent on annual budget appropriations and State and Federal laws.
All overtime work must be approved in advance by the Department Head.
50-25 Plan for Road and Bridge Department. The following provisions in
