RE: APPROVAL OF REQUEST BY THE CITY OF EVANS TO INSTALL TRAFFIC
CONTROL DEVICES ON 37TH STREET AT 23RD AVENUE NEAR EVANS,
COLORADO BY THE CITY OF EVANS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Engineering Services
has informed the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, that the City of Evans, Colorado is seeking the approval
of the Board of County Commissioners in the installation of
traffic control devices on 37th Street at 23rd Avenue near the City
of Evans, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , it has been further pointed out to the Board that
there will be no expense incurred by the County of Weld related
to said installation, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has studied the
request submitted by the City of Evans , and has determined that
said traffic control devices are necessary to insure safety to
the traveling public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners that the request by the City of Evans to install traffic
control devices on 37th Street at 23rd Avenue near Evans, Colorado,
be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 26th day of
September, A.D. , 1977.

RE: Installation of traffic control devices
37th Street at 23rd Avenue
Evans, Colorado.
Dear Mr . Smith:
This is in reference to our recent conversation concerning
the city' s plans to install traffic control devices at the
intersection of 37th Street and 23rd Avenue, in the City
of Evans.
The city proposes to install an overhead warning beacon
with flashing red lights, to be supported with stop signs
and stop ahead signs. All devices are to be installed in
accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control
Devices.
Our experience with the existing traffic volume at this
intersection and the present physical configuration of
the recent improvements at this intersection require the
city to take some measures to increase vehicular traffic
safety in this area.
The City of Evans now seeks approval from Weld County in
the installation of the above mentioned control device and
the City of Evans will incur any and all expenses involved.
If you have any questions regarding our proposal and/or
the need for the installation of these devices, please let
me know.
