V1 G O U N TY I FROM: Janet Lundquist, Public Works
SUBJECT: Installation of Stop Signs on CR 122
Public Works requests approval to install a traffic regulatory sign (Stop sign R1-1) at the intersection of CR 95
with CR 122. North and South bound traffic would be stopped on CR 95 at CR 122.
The traffic count for CR 122 was taken in June 2013 with an AADT of 208. The traffic count for CR 95 was
taken in July 2011 with an AADT of 20; both county roads are gravel roads. The Manual of Uniform Traffic
Control Devices (MUTCD) section 26.04 suggests that stop signs should be placed at an intersection of a less
important road with a main road where application of the normal right-of-way rule would not be expected to
provide reasonable compliance with the law. Public Works recommends that traffic be stopped on CR 95 & CR
122 in the North and South bound directions.
