RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF ROBERT J. FRICK AS COUNTY ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the office of County Attorney shall be the primary employment of the County
Attorney and he shall have no other employment as an attorney, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Law shall exercise all legal and administrative functions of
the County government assigned by law or the Board to the County Attorney, and
WHEREAS, the County Attorney shall act as legal advisor for the Board and all
departments and divisions of county government, and the County Attorney shall, upon request of
elective county officers, issue formal written opinions on questions of law, which shall be
maintained by the County as public documents, and
WHEREAS, as directed by the Board, the County Attorney shall represent the County,
county officers, county employees, and appointed boards and commissions and their members in
suits, actions and other legal proceedings, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has selected Robert J. Frick as the
County Attorney based upon the recruitment and selection process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Robert J. Frick be, and hereby is appointed as the County Attorney,
effective December 1, 2014, to serve at the pleasure of the Board
