Attached please find a letter from the Larimer County Engineer
requesting a change at the Berthoud Landfill .
I have been in touch with Ed Force , Larimer County Solid Waste
Manager , and he stated all landfills in his County are to be
managed by said County .
Their proposal is to operate the present Berthoud landfill as a
transfer station , and all materials received will be hauled off
to the Larimer County landfill site by County trucks . This
proposal will require a concrete pad and retaining wall to be
built so individual citizens and trash companies can unload in-
to roll off boxes that will later be hauled away . Also a small
type wooden building on skids will be needed to house records and
act as a receiving station . Larimer County will upgrade the ac-
cess and road into this site and in the future they plan to land-
scape most of the area.
This operation will be done under Weld County Solid Waste certi-
ficate #1 issued to Town of Berthoud , Colorado on June 20 , 1968.
If there are any questions , I am available to answer them or get
the answer. Also attached are copies of certificate , contract
with Berthoud, fee schedule , hours open etc. , and detailed
drawings available iinny Weld County Engineering office .

Dear Mr. Olson:
In reference to our telephone conversation this date, regarding Larimer
County's proposal to operate a transfer station at the site now known as
the Town of Berthoud Landfill, I submit the following:
We propose to operate enough days or hours each week to satisfactorily
accommodate the citizens of the Town of Berthoud.
We will open at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday mornings, and will close at 5:00 P.M.
We will open at 9:00 A.M. Saturday mornings and close at 5:00 P.M. Our rates
will be those now in effect by the Town of Berthoud, which are:
(1) Automobiles $1.00
(2 Station Wagons $2.00
3 Pickup Trucks(Standard $2.00
Bed)
(4) Pickup Trucks(Raised $3.00
Sides)
�5 Two Wheel Trailers $2.00
6 Two Wheel Trailers(Raised $3.00

19 Trucks(Standard Form Beds)$5.00

or More)
We will not receive household appliances, stoves, refridgerators, ect.,
or old car bodies at this site. They will have to be delivered to the
Fort Collins—Loveland Landfill. After operations have begun and we have
determined our actual costs, we feel some adjustments are necessary. I
will see that your office is properly notified:

S LEASE
THIS LEASE, made and entered into this N '' day of
1975, by and between THE TOWN OF BERTHOUD, Colorado, a municipal corporation,
Lessor, and the COUNTY OF LARIMER, STATE OF COLORADO, Lessee, WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the Lessor is the owner of the following described real
property situated in Weld County, Colorado, hereinafter described as Parcels
C and D:
Parcel C:
A portion of the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 19,
Township 4 North, Range 68 West of the 6th P:"1., Weld
County, Colorado, described as follows: Beginning at
a point 800 feet East of the Northwest corner of said SW 1/4,
on the North line thereof, thence South 0°30' West 521 feet,
thence North 89°35' East to a point 100 feet West of the
East line of said NW 1/4 of said SW 1/4, thence North,
parallel to said East line, to the North line of said SW 1/4,
thence West along said North line to the point of beginning.
Parcel D:
The East 100 feet of the North 521 feet of the NW 1/4 of
the SW 1/4 of Section 19, Township 4 North, Range 68 West
of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado; EXCEPT Book 603,
Page 26; and EXCEPT Book 1544, Page 20, of the records of
Weld County, Colorado; reserving all water and water rights.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the sum of TEN ($10.00) DOLLARS
paid by the Lessee to )the Lessor, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged,
and the further consideration that the Lessee install a solid waste transfer
station on the aforesaid described property and provide the necessary and
usual services in connection therewith, the use of which shall include the
Town of Berthoud, and provide the paving of the ingress and egress road
thereto, (at such time funds are available for such paving), the Lessor does
lease unto the Lessee the above described parcels of real property for the
use as a solid waste transfer station and sanitary land-fill, for a period
of twenty (20) years from the date hereof, without further lease payments.
�i The Lessor hereby reserves to itself and its assigns the right to
`I occupy and use the aforesaid described property notwithstanding the leasehold
estate granted herein so long as the Lessor's use and occupancy does not
interfere with the said use of the Lessee.
FURTHERMORE, IT IS MUTUALLY UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED that in the event

and sanitary land-fill prior to the end of the said twenty year term of the
leasehold estate, then in such event the leasehold estate shall immediately
terminate and this agreement shall be held for naught.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have caused this lease to be
executed by the proper officers and the respective seals to be affixed.
