RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF DONALD DUNKER, AS COUNTY ENGINEER, AND
TOM PARKO, AS THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT DESIGNEE (LGD) FOR THE
COLORADO OIL AND GAS CONSERVATION COMMISSION, AND DIRECT
TRANSFER OF TWO ENGINEER POSITIONS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
PUBLIC WORKS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, with the appointment
of Jay McDonald as Director of Public Works, desires to reorganize the Engineering Division of
Public Works, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, as part of the
reorganization of the Engineering Division of Public Works, wants to move two Engineer
positions to the Department of Planning Services to process and review development
applications, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, as part of the
reorganization of the Engineering Division of Public Works, wants to move the Local
Government Designee (LGD) for the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission function
to the Department of Planning Services and name the Director of the Department of Planning
Services, Tom Parko, as the Local Government Designee (LGD).
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-5 (1) of the Weld County Home Rule Charter,
the Weld County Engineer shall be licensed, or shall be eligible for license, as a registered
professional engineer in the State of Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to appoint Donald Dunker, as County
Engineer, effective April 2, 2014, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to appoint Tom Parko, as the Local
Government Designee (LGD), effective April 2, 2014.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that Donald Dunker, be, and hereby is, appointed as County Engineer,
and that Tom Parko, be and hereby is, appointed as the Local Government Designee (LGD),
both being effective April 2, 2014.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, that two Engineer positions be transferred to the Department of Planning Services to
process and review development applications.
