SUBJECT: Fill Sand Bid, B1400034
The Public Works Department recommends the second low bid from Varra Companies be accepted in the
amount of$3.40 per ton from their Greeley plant. Northern Colorado Constructors was the lowest bidder at
$2.10 per ton from their Fort Lupton plant. However, the price difference of$1.30 would be made up in hauling
costs to and from the Fort Lupton plant.
If Varra Companies is unable to provide the required amount of fill sand needed, we would need to purchase
the fill sand from Northern Colorado Constructors so that our projects are not adversely affected.
