RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO WELD COUNTY FEDERAL MINERAL
LEASE DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, by and through Resolution Number 2011-2263, dated August 17, 2011,
nunc-pro-tunc, June 29, 2011, the Board established the Weld County Federal Mineral Lease
Act District (the 'District"), which includes a Board of Directors (designated the "Weld County
FML District Board of Directors") that must be appointed by the Board of County
Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, on December 30, 2013, the Board deemed it advisable to continue the
matter to January 6, 2014, to address potential conflicts of interest, and
WHEREAS, following review, the Board deems it advisable to appoint Weld County
Commissioner Mike Freeman to the Weld County FML District Board of Directors, with a term
effective January 1, 2013 and set to expire January 15, 2016, and to reappoint Travis DePorter
to said Board of Directors, with a term to expire January 15, 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that Weld County Commissioner Mike Freeman and Travis DePorter
be, and hereby is, appointed and reappointed, respectively, to the Federal Mineral Lease
District Board of Directors, each with terms to expire as listed above.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 6th day of January, A.D., 2014.
