Bids were received and opened on October 1, 2014 for B1400175, Backup Software (IT
project number IS-2014-14). Four (4) bids were received, however only three (3) were
considered complete. The complete bids range from $386,265.20 to $546,316.00 for a
five year proposal. Attached is the bid tabulation for your information.
The Information Technology staff reviewed all of the bids and the scoring of the RFP
responses is attached. ISC out of Englewood, CO proposed the lowest cost solution of
$386,265.20 (five-year cost) and provides the most functionality over the other solutions
proposed. Year One cost will be $239,692.60 for the initial cost of the hardware,
software licenses plus one year of support.
Enterprise projects encompassing the backup and storage environment were bundled to
obtain synergies in technology. The backup software project was bundled with backup
storage and data storage projects.
The capital plan for 2014 approved three projects that were bundled;
• Backup Storage (IS-2014-12) $105,000.00
• Storage (IS-2014-18) $129,500.00
• Backup Software (IS-2014-14) $225,000.00
• Total capital plan approved $459,500.00
The capital expenditure for the three projects that were bundled;
• Backup Storage (IS-2014-12) $104,144.00
• Storage (IS-2014-18) $106,939.44
• Backup Software (IS-2014-14) $239,692.60
• Total expenditure $450,776.04
The bundled pricing for the three projects is $450,776.04, under budget by $8,723.96.
With the above information, I recommend the board award the IS-2014-14 Backup
Software / #61400175 to ISC for a one year total amount of$239,692.60.
