RE: CONSIDER TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MISSILE SITE CAMPGROUND FOR
CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 17-2-60, C.R.S.:
"The Board of County Commissioners may, by resolution, order the
temporary closure of any park subject to the Board's ownership
and/or control. Said closure may be for any reason...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute, has determined that conditions exist
which make it necessary to temporarily close the Missile Site Campground by posting signs
thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to temporarily close the Missile Site Campground
until further notice, due to construction hazards and for the safety of the general public, and
hereby authorizes and orders the posting of appropriate signage.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that the Missile Site Campground be temporarily closed,
with said closure being effective immediately, and until further notice, and further, that signage
shall be posted giving notice of said closure.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 13th day of August, A.D., 2014.

Subject: Missile Site Campground Closure
The roofs at the Missile Site Park are scheduled for replacement. Construction can present hazards
to citizens. In accordance with Weld County Code Article II, Section Sec. 17-2-60, "The Board of County
Commissioners may, by resolution, order the temporary closure of any park subject to the Board's
ownership and/or control. Said closure may be for any reason." Therefore, Buildings & Grounds is
recommending the Board close the Missile Site Park Campground until further notice.
