And for some, the recollection of that day will be that it was simply particularly rainy. Between the two ends of the spectrum fall countless stories and countless varying experiences. For our municipality, it made us grateful. Grateful that we had others willing to step up and help in ways we never thought we'd need. Grateful that you, our county leadership, helped in ways above and beyond which redefined above and beyond. Without the help from Weld County Commissioners and staff, Evans residents would have suffered more, and suffered longer, than this disaster was already requiring of them. The list of help that we are grateful for is long. Your vision of offering and executing a mutual aid agreement prior to this event made it possible for us to work quickly together to resolve many pressing issues. Most notable is the repair of over 8 miles of roadway. Without this assistance these repairs may have not occurred for many months into the future. The professional guidance and leadership shown by your Emergency Operations Center was invaluable and helped make possible coordination and initiation of an exceptional local response to the flood. Your personal and individual response for the purpose of assessing our needs went far beyond what would be expected. For all these efforts put forth by the board of County Commissioners, the City of Evans is deeply appreciative. Now, six months post flood, as recovery continues, and we recognize National Flood Awareness Week, our gratitude is no less profound.Thank you, Weld County Commissioners, from the City of Evans.
