LETTER OF PROTEST
Mr. Carlson;
The purpose of this letter is to officially protest the awarding of bid number
028-79 to Wagner Equipment Company for the purchase of eight motorgraders.
We are basing our protest on the following points:
1) Tie effect of Wagner' s high bid was altered by an additional proposal
offered after the official opening of the bids and this alteration was a major
consideration in the awarding of the bid to Wagner Equipment Company.
2) None of the other bidders were requested by Weld County to submit a comparable
competitive proposal to the 10 year guaranteed repurchase plan.
We feel that either the award should be made to the low bidder meeting your
published bid specifications or the equipment should be rebid, with all items
which are to be considered in the purchase clearly specified in the bid request
and all bidders be given an equal opportunity.
