RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF JAY MCDONALD AS DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Department of Public Works provides for the maintenance and construction
of roads, bridges and storm drainage facilities in the public right-of-way throughout Weld County.
The Department is comprised of nine separate Divisions which include Trucking, Motor Grader,
Pavement Management, Weeds, Administration, Engineering, Maintenance Support, Bridge, and
Planning. The Department is responsible for the maintenance of 2,344 miles of gravel roads, 677
miles of hard surfaced roads, and 519 bridges as well as thousands of miscellaneous culverts.
WHEREAS, the Board of Weld County Commissioners deems it advisable to appoint
Jay McDonald, as Director of Public Works, effective March 25, 2014.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Jay McDonald be, and hereby is, appointed Director of Public Works,
effective March 25, 2014.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 31st day of March, A.D., 2014, nunc pro tunc March 25, 2014.
