HOUSING AUTHORITY
WELD COUNTY, COLORADO
FEBRUARY 24, 2014
The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Housing
Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting
in the Weld County Administration Building, Greeley, Colorado, February 24, 2014, at the hour of
9:00 a.m.
��— ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following
members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Douglas Rademacher, Chair
Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED
Commissioner Sean P. Conway
Commissioner Mike Freeman
Commissioner William F. Garcia
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Susan Brown
Controller, Barbara Connolly
E MINUTES: Commissioner Conway moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority Board
meeting of January 27, 2014, as printed. Commissioner Garcia seconded the motion, and it carried
unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
El In response to Commissioner Conway, Tom Teixeira, Director of the Greeley/Weld County
Housing Authority, gave a brief update on the impacts of the flood on temporary and full-time housing.
He said FEMA is working on that as well, and 170 people have registered for assistance for unmet
needs. The State's Action Plan was submitted on Friday and FEMA has 45 days to respond. He said it
seems like a long process, but is actually ahead of schedule for many things. Commissioner Conway
referred to the $21 million which will be available and Mr. Teixeira said a mailing will go out to the last
known address of those affected. Commissioner Conway also thanked the United Way for $3.3 million
they have raised to help flood victims with recovery, and for getting many small grants out the door
already.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
