Home My WebLink About20141906.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES HOUSING AUTHORITY WELD COUNTY, COLORADO JUNE 23, 2014 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Housing Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Administration Building, Greeley, Colorado, June 23, 2014, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Douglas Rademacher, Chair Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer, Pro-Tem Commissioner Sean P. Conway Commissioner Mike Freeman Commissioner William F. Garcia - EXCUSED Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Susan Brown Controller, Barbara Connolly MINUTES: Commissioner Conway moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority Board meeting of May 28, 2014, as printed. Commissioner Freeman seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: F Tom Teixeira, Director of the Weld County Housing Authority, reported that the grant for $5 million for Community Development Block Grant Disaster Relief will go before the State Housing Board tomorrow afternoon. He explained $2.7 million is for housing rehabilitation (open to all citizens of Weld County regardless of income level) for those displaced by the flood, $450,000.00 is for down-payment assistance, and $1.8 million for up to two years of rental assistance. The Board had a work session on this grant, and Commissioner Conway noted this is $62.3 million leftover from Hurricane Sandy that the secretary of HUD said he would make available to Colorado Counties. Mr. Texeira added they will have to adopt the State's Revolving Loan Program guidelines before the grant is received.
