RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 22 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 41 AND 49 FOR
APPROXIMATELY THREE (3) MONTHS WORKING DAYS, FOR INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting
signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic
thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the
Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 22, between County Roads 41 and 49, be
temporarily closed, with said closure being effective August 4, 2014, for approximately three (3)
months for an intersection improvements project, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 28th day of July, A.D., 2014.

RE: WCR 22 Road Closure
The WCR 49 and WCR 22 Intersection Improvement Project has been awarded and will begin
construction soon. This construction will require the closure of WCR 22 between WCR 41 and WCR 49
throughout the project duration. The detour has been established and is attached for reference. The
following information pertains to this closure:
• Road Closed Starting August 4th, 2014
• Anticipating Road Reopened November 9`h, 2014
• WCR 22 AADT— 1,327(2013)
• WCR 49 AADT—5,250 (2013)
• Detour Length — 8 miles all asphalt paved
• Message boards will be placed at entrance points to the construction at least 7 days prior to the
closure.
