REGARDING COUNTY ROAD NO. 7 FROM COUNTY ROAD NO. 34 TO STATE HIGHWAY NO. 66 IN WELD COUNTY, COLORADO. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, on September 20, 1977, the Board of County Com- missioners of Weld County, Colorado, received a petition signed by the residents of the Town of Mead and surrounding communities, requesting Weld County Board of County Commissioners to inspect and authorize the reconstruction of County Road No. 7, and: . WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering Services has informed the Board of County Commissioners, after inspection of the above- mentioned County Road, that County Road No. 7 from County Road 34 to State Highway 66 is in need of reconstruction, and has recommended that this project be considered "high priority" for the 1978 season. _.;:C NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com- missioners of Weld County, Colorado, that in order to insure the safety of the general public, the recommendation of the Department of Engineering Services to.:consider.the-reconstruction of County Road No. 7. from County Road No. 34 to State Highway No. 66 =..asia ::_ "high priority" item for the 1978 season, be, and hereby is, -accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado that the petition submitted, as afore- mentioned, be, and hereby is, denied. Road 7 has been in bad need of rebuilding for many years and has now become a hazard to anyone traveling this ' road. This section of road is asphalt surfaced. The road has had numerous patch repairs and new areas requiring patching are continuously appearing. The road is in poor condition and should be reconstructed. This project should have high priority for 1978 season. County Road 5 from County Road 30 to State Highway 66' has been raised in elevation ( 1976) and now has pit run material as surfacing. This road should be upgraded to low density surfacing due to the number or residences on the road and to its high use for school and other traffic.
