RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD CONCERNING USE BY SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT,
USR14-0023, FOR A MINERAL RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT, INCLUDING OPEN PIT
MINING (SANDS, GRAVELS AND STONES) AND MATERIALS PROCESSING,
INCLUDING CONCRETE OR ASPHALT BATCH PLANTS AND/OR RECYCLING
OPERATIONS IN THE A (AGRICULTURAL) ZONE DISTRICT - COULSON
EXCAVATING COMPANY, C/O VARRA COMPANIES, INC.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing on the 1st day of
October, 2014, at the hour of 10:00 a.m., in the Chambers of the Board for the purpose of hearing
the application of Coulson Excavating Company, 3609 NCR 13, Loveland, CO 80538-2316, do
Varra Companies, Inc., 8120 Gage Street, Frederick, CO 80516, for a Site Specific Development
Plan and Use by Special Review Permit, USR14-0023, for a Mineral Resource Development,
including open pit mining (sands, gravels and stones) and Materials Processing, including
concrete or asphalt batch plants and/or recycling operations in the A (Agricultural) Zone District
on the following described real estate, to-wit:
Lot B of Recorded Exemption, RE-3197; being part
of the NE1/4 of Section 10, Township 5 North,
Range 65 West of the 6th P.M., Weld County,
Colorado
WHEREAS, the Board heard all of the testimony and statements of those present and
reviewed the request of the applicant and, having been fully informed, finds that this request be
approved and the matter should be continued to October 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., to allow
Coulson Excavating Company, do Varra Companies, Inc., adequate time to meet the 30-day
Mineral Notice as required by State Statute.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the abovementioned matter be, and hereby is, continued to
October 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m.
