RE: APPROVE USE OF WELD COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY REVOLVED FUNDS
FOR SEWER PROJECTS IN THE ESPANOLA SUBDIVISION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Housing Authority receives State grants which have been
spent for housing purposes, and which have been repaid to the Housing Authority as program
income; and
WHEREAS, Weld County received funds for drainage and road improvements and is
collaborating with the City of Greeley for water and sewer line improvements prior to the road
reconstruction, and
WHEREAS, within the scope of the project, the purpose of the Housing Authority funding
is to connect homes currently on septic systems to the City of Greeley sanitary sewer system
and repair any sewer services or other infrastructure damaged during construction.
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority's revolved funds may be used for housing purposes,
and the State of Colorado Department of Local Affairs has indicated that it has no objection to
the use of up to $226,300 related to sewer service projects in the Espanola Subdivision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Housing Authority Board, hereby approves the use up to
$226,300 of the Weld County Housing Authority's revolved grant funds for sewer projects in the
Espanola Subdivision, so long as any work contracted to outside entities is completed in
compliance with the Weld County Code.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 27th day of January, A.D., 2014.
