The signs will be in place from June 9, 2014-August 1, 2014. The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) recommends posting the speed limit within 5 mph of the 85 percentile speed limit (Section 2B-13). Other factors such as road characteristics, roadside development, accident records, and shoulder conditions may be considered when establishing speed limits. CR 89 was closed due to flood waters. CR 68 has been inundated with additional truck traffic. There have been numerous blow outs and the grader division has been diligently in repairing them but the speed of the traffic is making it difficult and unsafe for them to make the repairs. Rather than closing the roadway Public Works recommends reducing the speed limit on WCR 68 from 55 mph down to 30 mph. This will allow the grader division to make the repairs and help slow down the damage to the roadway. 2014-1688 Page- 1 -of l June 5,2014 C\Users\sbrown\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\ContentOutlook\HUFHU5UR\BOCC 060514 Temp SL.doc Hello
