NOTICE OF HEARING ON PETITION FOR ORGANIZATION
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there was filed with the Weld County
District Court a Petition for Organization of the Eaton Area Park&Recreation District(the
"District"),which Petition requests the organization of a park and recreation district. Notice is
further given that a Service Plan and a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners, Weld
County, Colorado, approving such Service Plan were also filed with the Court in this matter, as
required by law. The Service Plan and related documents are now on file in the office of the
Clerk of the Weld County District Court and are available for public inspection.
The purpose of the District is generally to provide recreation services, as defined by
statute, in accordance with the duly approved Service Plan and within the jurisdictional
boundaries of the District.
The District lies partly within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Eaton and the
City of Greeley and within the special districts of the Eaton Fire Protection District,the Galeton
Fire Protection District, the Ault Fire Protection District,the Briggsdale Fire Protection District,
the Platte Valley Fire Protection District,the High Plains Library District, the North Weld Water
District and the West Greeley Conservation District. A general description of the boundaries of
the District is as follows:

The Weld County RE-2 School District boundaries, an area of approximately 230 square
miles,with the exception of: (1) properties within the municipal boundaries of the Town
of Severance, State of Colorado; (2)parcels of agricultural land that contain 40 or more
acres used primarily and zoned for agricultural uses, unless written consent is provided
by the owners of such properties; and(3) specific individual parcels of property, inclusive
of mineral interests, that were duly excluded by the Resolution pursuant to exclusion
requests filed by the owners of such properties,the legal descriptions of which are set
forth on Attachment A to the Resolution.
A map of the proposed boundaries, which does not take into account the aforementioned
exclusions, is attached as Exhibit C to the Service Plan.
In accordance with the procedures set forth in Section 32-1-305(3), C.R.S.,the owner of
any real property within the District may file a petition with the Weld County District Court
stating reasons why such property should not be included within the District, and requesting that
such property be excluded therefrom. Such petition shall be duly verified, shall describe the
property sought to be excluded, and shall be filed anytime after the filing of the Petition for the
organization of the District, but no later than ten (10) days before the day hereinafter specified
for the hearing thereon before the District Court. A home rule municipality may also file a
petition for exclusion.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN by order of the Weld County District Court that a public
hearing on the Petition for Organization will be held at the hour of 9:00 a.m. on the 24th day of
January, 2014, in Courtroom 219, Div. 4, at the District Court for Weld County, Colorado,
located at 915 Tenth Street, Greeley, CO 80631.
At such hearing any interested party may appear and be heard within the limitations
provided by law.
