RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 44 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 47 AND 51 FOR
APPROXIMATELY FIVE (5) MONTHS, FOR INTERSECTION COUNTY ROADS 49/44
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting
signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic
thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the
Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 44, between County Roads 47 and 51, be
temporarily closed, with said closure being effective mid May, 2015, for approximately five (5)
months for the county roads 49/44 Intersection Improvement Project, and further, that standard
official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the
following vote on the 6th day of May, A.D., 2015.

RE: WCR 44 Road Closure
The WCR 49 and WCR 44 Intersection Improvement Project has been awarded and will begin
construction soon. This construction will require the closure of WCR 44 between WCR 47 and WCR 51
throughout the project duration. The detour has been established and is attached for reference. The
following information pertains to this closure:
• Anticipating Road Closed Starting Mid May 2015
• Anticipating Road Reopened Early September 2015
• WCR44 AADT-945 (2013)
• WCR 49 AADT—5,838 (2013)
• Detour Length—4 miles treated gravel road
• Message boards will be placed at entrance points to the construction at least 7 days prior to the
closure.
