RETURN COMPLETED FORM TO' Romaine Pacheco,Director Governor's Office of Boards and Comm scions 136 Stale Capitol Bldg, Denver.CO80203 SIGNATURE:A. Susie Velasquez DATE: 12/31/2014 Fax:303.866.6368 boards@state.cous I want to serve as the Weld County Public Trustee because I love my job and know it very well. I believe I am uniquely qualified to serve in this position given my legal background and my eight years experience as the Public Trustee. When I started in 2007,the office was still processing paper foreclosures. In 2007, I implemented the electronic processing of foreclosures and a website with foreclosure information for the public. The implementation of electronic filing resulted in streamlining the process plus saving time and money for the office. Most recently, because of a downturn in foreclosures, I eliminated two staff positions. Also, after a voluntary employee resignation, that vacant position was not filled. As difficult as it is to downsize, it is important to keep an eye on the bottom line and cut down operating expenses accordingly. In 2014, after completing both educational and experience requirements as set forth by the Public Trustee Association of Colorado (PTAC)and Colorado Mesa University, I obtained my Public Trustee Certificate. This certification program is designed to enhance the professionalism and productivity of PTAC members so that they may better serve their offices and the public. For these reasons, I want to serve as the Weld County Public Trustee.
