The substance of that agreement was that if we would gravel hhe road • - so that it 'could be used in wet weather Roop Would install a gate at' j the north approach to the road and a cattleguard at the south end and•-- that the roadway would be treated as a private road • . I Jones then stated that he had talked several times with Roop and Harvey 4 : Shearston about that road and that by agreement between Shearston and r Roop they had thrown all of their wishes together and had tied it into - the purchase we had been negotiating with Shearston which had in effect put the squeeze on the club to the effect that if we wanted to purchase . the-triangle in the northwest corner of our lake which had been originally leased from the predecessors of Shearston we woukd have to throw in with I • Shearston and Hoop and petition the County to take over the rued as a ' ' . \ , county road. It was presumed that a good sign could be erected at the north end of the road to show that it is a "DEAD END ROAD" in order to . keep people from running down to the lake during the duck season; • .
