RE: DENIAL OF VACATION OF ALLEY IN WATTENBERG, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado has received a request to abandon, vacate and close
an alley that runs north and south from Williams Street to
Julia Street in Block 19 , Wattenberg, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, there are utilities located within the right-of-
way of the alley which would need to be serviced from time to
time in the future, and
WHEREAS , a vacation of this alley would also hinder neces-
sary access by fire fighting equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the application for
vacation of the alley running north and south from Williams
Street to Julia Street, Block 19 , Wattenberg, Colorado, be and
hereby is denied.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly
made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 29th
day of June, A.D. , 1977.

Mr. Martinez' s request to vacate the alley in Block 19 ,
Wattenberg has been referred to this office for comment .
I made an on site inspection of said property and visited
with Mrs . Martinez, also talked to their son over the
telephone. At that time I informed them this office would
not recommend vacation of said alley due to the fact utiltiy
poles are in this location and should they need service
entrance would be cut off by the vacation of the alley . The
vacation of this alley would also hinder fire fighting equip-
ment from getting to certain buildings near the alley.
In my opinion a vacation of this alley should not be granted
because of the above mentioned along with any improvements
that might go in this area in the future .
I promised the applicant they would hear from the County as
soon as the Commissioners made their decision. Mr. Martinez' s
address is on the petition.
