RE: RECOGNITION OF NORMA RANDALL'S 100th BIRTHDAY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Norma Randall was born in Fairview, Missouri, in 1915 and moved to Weld
County in 1926 with her parents Ethel and Rupert Beights, and
WHEREAS, throughout her life Norma has lived in the municipalities of Windsor, Evans
and Greeley; graduating from Greeley High School in 1934, and
WHEREAS, Norma married Dick Randall on May 12, 1938, and
WHEREAS, Norma worked for several businesses within Weld County including JC
Penney and Wright and McGill Company as well as volunteered at the Evans Church and
served on the Evans Museum Board, and
WHEREAS, Norma's life philosophy is, "live within your means or income, try to improve
it, but not beyond it, be content with what you have, get an education in what you are most
interested in, and to do unto other as you want them to do unto you," and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is proud to recognize Norma Randall
as an outstanding Weld County resident and would like to wish her a Happy 100th birthday.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Board Thanks Norma Randall for being a valuable and valued
member of Weld County, whose accomplishments, work ethic and life philosophy make Weld
County a great place and wishes her a very Happy 100th Birthday through this proclamation.
The above and foregoing proclamation was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 8th day of June, A.D., 2015.

Information about Norma Randall
• Norma is turning 100 years old on June 20
• Her family contacted Weld County to see if we would be able and interested in
doing something special and unique for her birthday to add into a memory book
they are making her
• The commissioner agreed they would like to recognize Norma's 100th birthday
through a proclamation and card
• Norma and her family members will not be able to make it to the reading of her
proclamation so we are filming it and giving it to them on a DVD
• Norma moved to Weld County in 1926 and lived in Windsor, Evans and Greeley;
graduated from Greeley High School in 1934
• Her parents Ethel and Rupert Beights are buried at Lynn Grove Cemetery in
Greeley
• She married Dick Randall on May 12, 1938
• Dick enlisted as a Seabee in the Navy in 1942 and was away until October 28,
1945.
• Norma worked at Wadell's Café, JC Penney and Owned an in-home daycare
before finally working at Wright and McGill Company for 26 years
• After retirement, she served on the Evans Museum Board and was very active at
the Evans Church (until last year)
• She survived three breast cancer surgeries and a cancer spot on her leg
• In February, Norma moved into a nursing home in Brush because of a leg
infection due to radiation
• Her mind is excellent and she is very healthy other than the leg issue
