RE: APPROVAL TO ACQUIRE ONE-HUNDRED FIFTY DATA VOTE
PUNCHERS AND BOOTHS FROM COMPUTER ELECTION SYSTEMS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has adopted
purchasing Policies and procedures, pursuant to the Weld County
Home Rule Charter and Colorado statutes , regarding the purchasing
of goods and services required for the operation of Weld County
Government, and
WHEREAS, the policies and procedures for purchasing specify that
the Board must, by resolution, approve the acquisition of used materials,
and
WHEREAS, Computer Election Systems has used Data Vote punchers
and booths for sale at a reduced price of $130 . 00 per unit, compared
to a new acquisition cost of $248 . 00 per unit, and
WHEREAS, the County Clerk has discussed with the Board the future
need of additional Data Vote units to accommodate future elections in
Weld County, and
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners and the County Clerk
are in agreement that Weld County is in need of an additional one-
hundred fifty (150) Data Vote units to accommodate future elections, and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of Weld County to acquire the
additional Data Vote units at a reduced price from Computer Election
Systems.
NOW, THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado that the County Clerk is authorized to acquire
one-hundred fifty (150) Data Vote punch and booth units at the cost of
$130. 00 per unit from Computer Election Systems, to accommodate the
needs of Weld County voters in future elections, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado that the Finance Director be directed to prepare

a supplemental appropriation ordinance in the amount of Nineteen-
Thousand Five-Hundred Dollars ($19 ,500. 00) that will transfer funds
from the Contingency Fund to the General Fund into the Election Budget
for 1979 , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk will issue a
purchase order in the amount of Nineteen-Thousand Five-Hundred Dollars
($19 , 500. 00) upon receipt of the invoice from Computer Election
Systems to affect the payment for the acquisition of the 150 Data
Vote units.
The above and foregoing resolution was on motion duly made and
seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 5th day of March,
A.D. , 1979 .
