RE: EXTENSION OF REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 33 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 42 AND
U.S. HIGHWAY 85, FOR AN ADDITIONAL TEN (10) WORKING DAYS, FOR ROAD
IMPROVEMENTS AND PAVING
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, on October 14, 2015, by Resolution #2015-3271 the Board, pursuant to said
statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations, determined that conditions
existed which made it necessary to temporarily close to through traffic and to regulate, warn and
guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting signs thereon, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an extension request for the closure to
remain in effect until November 9, 2015, for an additional ten (10) working days.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County
roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the continued posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic
thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to
the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 33, between County Road 42 and
U.S. Highway 85, be extended, with said extended closure being effective October 14, 2015, for
an additional ten (10) working days until November 9, 2015, for road improvements and a paving
project, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure
giving notice of the restrictions.

Requesting to extend the previously approved road closure due to weather conditions that
delayed construction.
GLH Construction is requesting to close WCR 33 between WCR 42 and Hwy 85 from
10/14/2015 to 11/9/2015 for the Peckham Development road improvements and paving project.
