Home My WebLink About20150798.tiff RESOLUTION RE: DECLARE CERTAIN EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS PROPERTY, AUTHORIZE SALE OF SAME TO EATON POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZE CONTROLLER TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, State statute and the Weld County Code require that all items disposed of be declared surplus by the Board of County Commissioners, and WHEREAS, the County has determined that certain equipment, as described in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, has become obsolete and is no longer required for County use, and WHEREAS, The Board has been presented with a proposal for purchase of said equipment from the Eaton Police Department, 224 First Street, Eaton, Colorado 80615, for the sum of $5,000.00, and, WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to declare said equipment as surplus, approve said proposal for purchase, and authorize Controller to sign. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the abovementioned equipment be, and hereby is, declared surplus. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, BY THE Board that the proposal for purchase of said equipment from Eaton Police Department in the amount of $5,000.00, be and hereby, is approved, and the Controller is authorized to sign. They would like to purchase a 2008 Crown Vic that will be going to auction this year. They have offered $5,000 for the vehicle. We will leave the full light package on the vehicle since it is going to another police agency and the lighting package will not work on the new vehicles that we will be purchasing. I recommend approval of the sale to Eaton Police Department. Richard advised that the appropriate action prior to purchase must include a letter to your office advising the Town of Eaton's intent to purchase. Additionally, Richard quoted the purchase price of the vehicle at $5,000. This letter is to formerly advise your office that the Eaton Police Department intends to purchase the above stated vehicle after the terms set forth by the Weld County Sheriffs Office have been met.
