Dear Chris Gathman ,
This is in response to the information sent to my address regarding the property
referred to as Luther Rentals 1328 LLC , c/o of Energies Services , LLC . Since I
live within approximately 325 feet of the property in question, I do have some
concerns . Those concerns are as follows :
1 ) The property in not located on Hwy 14 as stated on the correspondence .
2 ) Even at this time the noise level is greatly increased since this company
has moved to this location .
3 ) Traffic has increased to the point that it is sometimes difficult to
enter 18th Street from Cherry Avenue .
4 ) When vehicles are in the above mentioned yard, if they are facing west ,
the lights shine directly into my front and bedroom windows .
5 ) Vehicle maintenance tends to be a noisy "business " , and that noise
can/would/does carry over to my location .
6 ) My property value has diminished due to the busy truck activity and noise
level that comes from that location .
7 ) The quality of the pavement and pavement markings on Hwy 34 / 18th Street
is deteriorating and no repairs are being made . This deterioration will
continue at a greater rate with the addition of Energies Services truck
traffic as well as the truck traffic that has been using this roadway for
decades .
B ) Work hours (probably not 8 : 00 to 5 : 00 exclusively) and work days
(probably not Monday through Friday exclusively) are a concern in regards
to the effect of traffic and noise levels .
I realize that the oil business is an ongoing and important part of life in this
county and the country as a whole , and also that progress is inevitable . I would
hope that perhaps at the very least a sound and sight barrier could be constructed
in order to protect the quality of life specifically on Cherry Avenue between 18th
and 20th Street . Perhaps there are other measures that could be taken in order for
all to work together to maintain harmony and quality of life in this neighborhood .
Again , this activity has impacted the value of my property in a negative way . I
would hope that these issues would be a consideration in the action taken by the
Weld County staff .
