Dear Commissioners,
The Town of Gilcrest once again would like to request sharing
of the Conservation Trust Fund money to help get more recreation
facilities.
At the present time we have our city park that we have been
improving with the help of the Conservation Trust Fund money we
received last year.
The town is in need of more recreation facilities like--childrens
play ground, basketball courts, tennis court, etc. There are
some lots available that could be used for recreation purposes if
the municipality could receive enough funds to help purchase and
develop these lots.
At the present time we are in need of completing our city park.
We need trees, dugouts and more fencing. Our town maintenance man
has estimated work and material cost at the park to be $1500.00 to
complete the project, and there are some lots available for purchasing
at $3000 .00 per lot.
The citizens of Gilcrest feel that they need financial help to
build an adequate recreation center in Gilcrest, since there is not
one here . We feel that to complete the park and other recreation
projects , the town would need the minimum of $4500 .00 outside funds.
Thank you for your concern
Sincerely, -Plat/aJose A . Castaneda

Mayor of Gilcrest
