Home My WebLink About20150531.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE BUSINESS SERVICE ORDER AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN -COMCAST BUSINESS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Business Service Order Agreement between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Information Technology, and Comcast Business, commencing upon execution of signature, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said agreement, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Business Service Order Agreement between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Information Technology, and Comcast Business be, and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to sign said agreement. Cozad � County Attorney 7 Steve Moreno Date of signature: ett ITMT 3!i l 2015-0531 IT0003 MEMORANDUM TO: Weld County BOCC February 5, 2015 1 ' FROM: Ryan Rose, Chief Information Officer CILc di Y SUBJECT: COMCAST Business Service Order Agreement 1399 N. 17th Ave Fleet facility Commissioners, Information Technology has been tasked by Centerra Fleet Services, the fleet services provider for Weld County, to provide enhanced internet connectivity for the 1399 N. 17th Ave fleet facility. The current 1.5 Mb Century Link provided DSL connection no longer meets the demands of the Centerra fleet system. During the requirements review and subsequent technology analysis, it was determined that Comcast business connection at 50 Mb with a static IP aligned most appropriately at the best cost point. The current Century Link costs incurred are $75.00 and the newly proposed alternative from Comcast is $142.85. As service is limited at the facility, Comcast will terminate the connection at the 1551 facility and Weld County will use current infrastructure to extend the connection to the 1399 N. 17th Ave fleet facility. IT recommends the installation of Comcast business internet service and the associated installation fee of$199.00.
