RE: AUTHORIZATION FOR THE CREATION OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' TRUST
FUND IN COUNTY TREASURY.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado Statute and Weld County Home Rule, is vested with the
authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners periodically require deposits
of monies for bonding or security purposes to insure that the interests of
Weld County are secured, and
WHEREAS, it has been the practice to convert such funds to negotiable
documents that are placed in a security deposit box at Greeley National
Bank, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and County Treasurer recommend that it
would be in the best interest of Weld County to authorize the Treasurer of
Weld County to create a Trust Fund to deposit such funds for secruity and
for proper management of money, and
WHEREAS, the Clerk to the Board has advised the Board that there is
currently a Cashier's Check in the amount of $3,000.00 in said security
deposit box at Greeley National Bank,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Treasurer of Weld County is hereby authorized
to create and maintain a Trust Fund for the Board of County Commissioners
to deposit such funds that are submitted to the Board as a deposit for se-
curity or bonding purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Cashier's Check currently held by the Clerk to the
Board, in the amount of $3,000.00 is hereby authorized in such fund.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Clerk to the Board, the Weld County Finance Of-
ficer, and the County Treasurer shall maintain appropriate records to be
able to ascertain, at any given time, an accounting of the funds in detail
that are in the Trust Fund created above.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that any interest accruing to funds in this Trust Fund
shall be deposited in the General Fund of Weld County, Colorado, unless other-
