Gentlemen:
A group of residents residing outside of the City limits
of Greeley along the North and South sides of 16th Street
East of 1st Avenue propose to form a water company in
order to bring water into their private residences and
property.
Approval of purchase of water from the City of Greeley
and permission to tap into the main at 1st Avenue and
16th Street have been obtained from the City Council of
the City of Greeley. The water company which is to be
formed is tentatively known as the East Side Water Com-
pany. It proposes to tap into the main on lst Avenue
just North of 16th Street and extend a pipe line Easterly
along the barrow pit adjoining the County Road for a dis-
tance of approximately 4,000 feet.
It is anticipated that initially there will be approx-
imately 20 users and they appear to be evenly divided in
location on the North and South sides of 16th Street. Ob-
viously, as to those residences which are located on the
opposite side of the road from the main lire it will be
necessary to "jet flow" under the County Highway in order
to hook into the main pipe line.
Therefore, permission is respectfully requested in behalf
of the Prcposed East de_Water_ Company to utilize the
barrow pit along the North side of the County Highway ex-
tending East from 1st Avenue, commonly known as 16th Street,
City of Greeley, for a distance of approximately 4,000 feet
more or less, and permission to "jet flow" connecting lines
under the highway in these instances where such action is
required. Since installation of the pipe line will be
under the supervision of the Water Superintendent of the
City of Greeley, who may possibly require that a tap and
installation be made cn the South side cf 16th Street, it

Said road to be not less than sixty (60) feet in width.
We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a County road as
above described, and we, the owners of the land through which said road is sought to be laid out, in
consideration of the sum of one dollar to us each and severally in hand paid by the said County of
the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and of the laying out and
opening of said road, hereby agree to give the right of way through our lands as shown by the plat
