RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC ON COUNTY
ROADS AND AT COUNTY ROAD INTERSECTIONS IN WELD COUNTY,
COLORADO.
WHEREAS, a multitude of complaints have been made to the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that drivers of motor
vehicles habitually drive on County roads and through County road inter-
sections without regard for the general safety of drivers of other motor
vehicles, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 1973 Colorado Revised Statutes, 42-4-511, as
amended, local authorities, with reference to streets or highways under their
jurisdiction, are authorized to designate through streets or highways and
erect stop signs at specified entrances thereto, and
WHEREAS, said Board, pursuant to such complaints, has determined
upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations that conditions exist
which make it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
County roads by posting signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Com-
missioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the Board deems it necess ary to
regulate, warn and guide traffic on County roads and any intersections thereof,
and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices
as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall
conform to the State Manual and specifications.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners,
Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish the following not to be
through streets or highways for the named portions of County roads which shall
become effective when standard stop signs are erected at the entrances to:
1 . County Road #25 where it intersects with County Road #72, all as
shown on plat submitted by the Weld County Engineering Department and made
a part hereof by reference.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and
seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 23rd day of February, A. D. ,
1976.

Traffic Control Device County Road 25
Subject:
An investigation and traffic study was made at the intersection
of County Roads 25 and 72. Because of visibility obstructions,
shown on the attached sketch, the intersection is considered
dangerous .
Traffic counts show the same amount of traffic on both roads, however ,
the offset in Road 25 at the intersection and the curve in Road 25
at the intersection would make stopping traffic on Road 25 reasonable.
Will you please prepare the necessary resolution.
