HomeMy WebLinkAbout20152721.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WELD COUNTY, COLORADO AUGUST 12, 2015 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Administration Building, Greeley, Colorado, August 12, 2015, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. • ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer, Chair Commissioner Mike Freeman, Pro-Tern Commissioner Sean P. Conway Commissioner Julie A. Cozad Commissioner Steve Moreno Also present: County Attorney, Bruce Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Stephanie Frederick Controller, Barbara Connolly • MINUTES: Commissioner Conway moved to approve the minutes of the Board of County Commissioners meeting of August 10, 2015, as printed. Commissioner Moreno seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. • AMENDMENTS TO AGENDA: There were no amendments to the agenda. • CONSENT AGENDA: Commissioner Cozad moved to approve the Consent Agenda as printed. Commissioner Freeman seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. El PUBLIC INPUT: No public input was given. • COMMISSIONER COORDINATOR REPORTS: Commissioner Freeman attended a Community Meeting in Grover, and had discussions about the oil and gas industry, as well as concerns with the roads. Commissioner Moreno stated he is representing Colorado Counties, Inc., on the Pilot Election Review Committee and they are preparing for evaluations. Commissioner Cozad said she attended Milliken Beef and Bean Day, was a participant in the parade and it was a nice celebration. She went to the Energy Council of East Weld Luncheon. She explained the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act conference is coming up and they are already splitting up into the five planning regions. Commissioner Conway reported he went to the "New Teachers" breakfast; it is designed to welcome the new District 6 teachers. During the Latino luncheon he discussed the Weld County Bright Futures Program. He thanked Joyce Smock for coordinating the community meeting in Grover. He reported being at the ACE Internship luncheon to honor all the District 6 Students that were involved. 8 Minutes, August 12, 2015 2015-2721 Page 1 BC0016 Commissioner Conway commended the Board for all the positive things he has heard about the Weld County Bright Futures Programs. Chair Kirkmeyer reported she attended the Fort Lupton Chamber and the East Energy Council Event where she discussed the benefits of the oil and gas industry in Weld County. She met with the Mayor of Fort Lupton, and they discussed the issues with CRs 19, 23, 6 and Highway 52 and they will work with the Board on the annexation. Lastly, she meet with Senator Gardner and he expressed projects they are currently working on in Evans and stated they will submit a grant application. RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES: The resolutions were presented and signed as listed on the Consent Agenda. No Ordinances were approved. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Clerk to the Board.
