WHEREAS, more than 100,000 children in the United States foster care
system are waiting to be adopted; more than 26,000 youth turn 18 every
.�year without having a forever family;more than 28O children in Colorado

I WHEREAS, more than 30 children in Weld County are waiting for forever �s

� families and legal permanency; and

I ! WHEREAS• , to help these children find permanent, nurturing families, the .,E
A, , Weld County Department of Human Services will hold a special = '
. �` celebration on Friday, November 20, 2015 (in association with National � `_��
Adoption Day on Saturday, November 21, 2015), to finalize the adoptions
of local children and join other organizations to celebrate all adoptions; ,•'�\

,,, t WHEREAS, this effort, along with similar celebrations in all 50 states, the �;.
�' `yv District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico, will offer children the
� ,_z, chance to live with stable and loving families and encourage other ~ >.t.
,�, ,,, : dedicated individuals to make a powerful difference in the lives of a child J
,. through adoption. - `/'
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE KNOWN that the Board of County ,,I -
/` ' Commissioners does hereby proclaim Friday, November 20, 2015, as
_,1 -c -i,' Weld County Adoption Day, and Saturday, November 21, 2015, as y
, 1_. National Adoption Day, and in so doing, urges all citizens to join in a

national effort to raise awareness about the importance of adoption.
