RE: SUBDIVISION AND REESTABLISHMENT OF CERTAIN PRECINCTS FOR 2015
GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 1-5-101(1) and 1-5-101(3), C.R.S., one precinct shall
be established for every one thousand five hundred active eligible voters, or for every two
thousand active eligible voters, if approved by Carly Koppes, Weld County Clerk and Recorder,
and the Board of County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, Ms. Koppes has identified eighteen (18) precincts that either have, or will this
year, exceed 2,000 eligible electors and must be split, as identified on Exhibit A, a copy of which
is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to subdivide these Precincts and reestablish
them in accordance with the boundaries set in the attached maps for each such Precinct.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Precinct Numbers listed on Exhibit A, be, and hereby are, subdivided and
reestablished in accordance with the boundaries set in the attached maps for each such Precinct.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 17th day of August, A.D., 2015.

Attached please find the precinct split information that we would like to put on the board ' s agenda . Included are maps
of the split precincts, a table of the changed precincts, and an example of a previous split that we did . Unlike the
example , this is not as a result of 1 - 5 - 101 ( 5 ) , instead , this is pursuant to 1 - 5 - 101 ( 1 ) and also 1 -5- 101 ( 3 ) . Because we had
several precincts that were going to exceed 2 ,000 people , we needed to split them , and we need to get the boards
permission . So the resolution would essentially appear as the one attached , but without the reference to1 - 5 - 101 ( 5 ) .
i Please let me know if you need any help in drafting the reso , or if you need any other information from us . We are
hoping to get this on the agenda for 8- 17 - 5 if possible . Thanks !
