Dear Commissioners Kirkmeyer,Conway.Freeman,Moreno,and Cozad:
Thank you for considering our request to use the Commissioners' former meeting room
in the Centennial Center for our Court Information Center. Since we last met,the
number of visitors assisted each month in the CIC has risen significantly.We assisted
507 individuals in the CIC last month,which is a new record. Over 400 people were
helped in February.2015. We anticipate our numbers will continue to grow as word
spreads about the services offered through the CIC.
Karen and I met with Toby today to discuss his idea to reconfigure the first floor of
Centennial Center.which includes relocating the security checkpoint and limiting public
entry to the building through the north door only. We completely support Toby's idea.
He also shared with us the Commissioners'goal of optimal use of all available space in
the court complex to account for future needs and population growth. With this in mind.
the court completely understands and agrees that the use of the Commissioners'meeting
room is not permanent and the CIC may need to be relocated in the future if or when the
Commissioners'meeting room is needed for another purpose,such as use for a
courtroom.
We again thank you for considering use of this space for the CIC. Please let us know if
there is any additional information or assistance needed from Karen,Marci or me.
