This extension would be in the final year of a possible three year term limit. The contract also allows for yearly rate adjustments based upon the current Engineering New-Record (ENR) price for Asphalt Base Course which was a 0% increase from January 2014 to January 2015. J-2 Contracting Company did not request an increase in 2015. The Recycled Asphalt crushing budget amount for 2015 is $125,000, J-2 Contracting contract price would be $119,662.95. J-2 Contracting was awarded this contract in 2013 as the low bid contractor and the department has been satisfied with their product. What options exist for the Board? (Include consequences,impacts,costs,etc.of options) The Board may either approve or deny the contract renewal/extension. Recommendation to the Board: I recommend approval for J-2 Contracting Company under the Recycled Asphalt Crushing Contract. Three bids were received for the project and amounts ranged from $96,975.00 to $245,100.00 with the lowest bid submitted by J-2 Contracting Company from Greeley,Colorado. The Estimated cost for this project was$147,250.00. This project is to crush the millings that were generated by Weld County's milling crew. These millings will then be used on the 2013 HRP project. Attached is the bid tabulation. In addition to the base bid, we would like to award add/alternate #2 (power supply for Weld County's radial stacker) in the amount of $1,575.00. It is our recommendation to award the project to J-2 Contracting Company for a total amount of$98,550.00. This contractor has completed similar work for us in the past with success.
