Box 758 Greeley, Co. 80631 Attn: Mr. Gil Olson Re: Variance request Archer to Story 345KV Transmission Line Dear Mr. Olson: In reference to Tri-State Generatation and Transmission Asso- ciation, Incorporated crossing permit for the Archer to Story 345KV electrical transmission line, we are requesting a variance be granted in relation to the county resolution "Regulating Installation of Overhead Utility Lines Across County Roads" dated December 27,1972. Having reviewed the locations of all transmission line towers which cross recognized county roads, we find that we must request a variance be granted allowing a reduction of the 100 foot minimum set back distance to a minimum of 75 feet, centerline of road to centerline of transmission tower. This will result in a final minimum clearance of 55 feet from any tower leg to the centerline of a county road. This variance is requested for only the following locations: county roads 115,86,103,96,89 , 69 and 106 ,and in all cases only at the point where crossing is made as indicated on plans forwarded to you. This reduction of horizontal clearance is necessitated by stringent governmental codes, heavy stress factors, adjacent utilities, route location, landowner requests etc. , which cause tower locations to approach county right-of-way. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Phil B. Mazur C.H. Guernsey & Co PM/sp cc: Chuck Mitisek Ed Temple Hello
