Home My WebLink About20162776.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE REVISIONS TO FEE SCHEDULE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FEES COLLECTED BY THE WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with revisions to the fee schedule for the Environmental Health fees collected by the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, and WHEREAS, after study and review, the Board deems it advisable to approve the proposed revisions, effective August 31, 2016, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the revised fee schedule for Environmental Health fees collected by the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, as attached hereto, be, and hereby are, approved, effective August 31, 2016. Wallace, MD, MPH Executive Director Department of Public Health & Environment DATE: August 30, 2016 SUBJECT: Revised Food Program Fee Schedule For the Board's approval is a final revised fee schedule with changes specific to the new licensing fees for Retail Food Establishments in Colorado. Effective September 1, 2016, House Bill 16-1401 authorizes increased licensing fees to be imposed by Counties to Retail Food Establishments (RFEs) throughout Colorado. These new fees need to be adopted into County code in order for the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment (WCDPHE) to begin collecting them. HB 16-1401 also authorizes Counties to establish their own unique fees for "special/temporary" events. These are fees that will be charged by WCDPHE to organizers and food booths at special/temporary events in Weld County. Examples of special/temporary events are the Stampede, Beef and Bean Days, the Arts Picnic, etc. The Department is proposing fees to recover costs for activities such as staff review, consultation and inspection of food booths at these events. This fee schedule was approved for placement on the Board's agenda via work session that took place on August 29, 2016.
