Section 24 Lot B Phone: 1. Brief description of land and current use( s ) Grass land 2. Future plans for the land Grass land with a race track and parking 3A. Negative Resources Noxious Weed Species. Acres Infested. Specific location of infestation(s) on land. (Wetland, along ditch, fence line, etc.) Scotch thistle Cheatgrass Other plants Prickly lettuce, Asters, Russian thistle skeletons on the edge, 3B. Positive Resources • Lots of native and other good grasses including: blue grama, sideoats grama, switchgrass and wheatgrass. 4. Management Plan A. Techniques I will implement: B. Timing schedule. Scotch thistle: In the fall of 2015 all that was found were skeletons. Watch the field for rosettes the next 5 years. When rosettes are identified: 1 . Dig them out; 2. Spot treat with 2,4-D at 32 oz/acre mix with a surfactant; or 3. Spot treat them with a 2% glyphosate solution like Round-up (glyphosate products are none selective and will impact the grass). Cheatgrass: install the track and see what ground it covers. Areas not impacted by the track and with a heavy infestation of cheatgrass, treat in July with Esplanade at 7 oz/ace. This is safe on your other grasses and will give 2 years control of the cheatgrass. Retreat the following years as needed until the native grasses fill in. Grazing is not allowed with this product. Around the parking area east of the track the track we talked about planting 1 or 2 rows of trees/shrubs for visibility enhancement, slow any dust from blowing off the track. The trees will also act as a trash collector. Parking areas discussed will be mowed at least once a month to 6 inches in height and let rest the month of July. This should help keep the health of the established grass and facility ground cover/protection as • well as limit possible fires from the cars. If the grass dies out with the traffic and mowing, a new plan will be developed to stabilize the soil. Grasses on the rest of the facility will be left untouched and allowed to grow and fill in as needed. Esther Gesick From : Barbara Kirkmeyer Sent: Wednesday. We believe that it will negatively affect the agricultural foundation that our community is built upon . Traffic and road issues will make it more difficult to get to our fields. We like our agricultural community to stay agricultural as we are working hard to produce food and fiber for our growing world . Finally, we do not want the gambling, questionable culture that a racetrack may bring when we are striving to maintain a strong agricultural family community.
