RE: APPROVAL OF RENEWAL OF LEASE WITH THE UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD
COMPANY CONCERNING THE GRADER SHED AND STORAGE YARD AT FORT
LUPTON, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, an Extension Rider has been presented to the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado concerning the
renewal of a lease with the Union Pacific Railroad Company
covering the grader shed and storage yard at Fort Lupton, Colo-
rado, and
WHEREAS, the term of said Extension Rider is from November 1,
1979 to October 31, 1984 , and
WHEREAS, the rental rate for said grader shed and storage
yard at Fort Lupton, Colorado is $248 .00 per year , and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advi-
sable to approve said Extension Rider between Weld County, Colo-
rado and the Union Pacific Railroad Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the Extension Rider
between Weld County, Colorado and the Union Pacific Railroad
Company be, and hereby is , approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 22nd day of
October, A.D. , 1979 .

WHEREAS , UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY, has

and including October 31 , 1984 , the term of that certain
lease dated October 23 , 1974 , whereby the Railroad Company

of said County of Weld, State of Colorado

COMMISSIONERS OF WELD COUNTY , COLORADO.
I That the terms of the agreement submitted by Union
Pacific Railroad Company as aforesaid be and the same hereby
are accepted in behalf of Weld County, Colorado •
That the Chairman of the Board of County Commission-
ers of said County hereby is authorized, empowered and direc- �
:bed to execute said agreement on behalf of said County, and
(that the County Clerk hereby is authorized and directed to at-
test said agreement and to attach to each duplicate original

of Weld covering lease of site for a maintenance shed at Fort
Lupton, Colorado which will expire by its own terms October
31, 1979.
Attached herewith is rider designed to extend this
lease for a further term of five years. This rider also provides
for a rental increase to be in line with present-day land values
and other leases presently in effect in this area.
Please execute all documents in the space provided
and return both copies to me for similar action on behalf of
the Railroad Company.

Dear Mr. Williams,
Joe Hoffman called me last Friday regarding tie letter I'd
written to you about some UP property in Fort Lupton. To
our knowledge there used to be a building on UP property
near mile post 26 in Fort Lupton; the building was later
moved to state property.
We understand that Weld County has a 99 year, $1.00 per
year lease for that land and that the County used to have
a shed there 20 years ago. Weld County would like to have
a shed again on this land to faciliate road maintenance
in that area; the shed would be used for road grader storage.
Any information on this situation you could send us would
be helpful.
