Knowing that your time isvaluable, I chose to send this communication as a brief description of the facility. We want to make sure all neighbors are aware of t its development. A PROfessionals, LLC is assisting with the development of a bio-energy facility to be constructed approximately one half mile west of Weld County Road 49, and north of Weld County Road 40. This facility will be owned by Heartland Renewable Energy, LLC and operated by their subsidiary Colorado Green, LLC. The site will encompass approximately 80 acres, with the facility itself involving 40 acres within this site. All permanent structures will be low profile and constructed of materials typical of farm and agricultural operations. It is the intent of Heartland Renewable Energy to develop a site that is compatible with existing topography and the view space of surrounding property owners. This will be an anaerobic digestion facility that will produce methane gas to be injected into the High Plains Natural Gas Pipeline. The digestion process will occur within sealed concrete vessels installed below ground level. The methane gas will be cleaned and compressed within enclosed manufacturing equipment and there will no emission of noxious odors from the facility. Feedstocks for the digestion process will consist of, but not be limited to, manure and wastewater from local feedlots and dairies, agricultural crop residues, untreated wood wastes, and food wastes. The utilization of animal manure will enhance existing local agricultural practices by decreasing the amount of green house gas emissions from animal feeding operations and land application of manure. The digestion process will produce a compost -like byproduct that will be windrowed and stored on the site for distribution to agriculture, landscaping, and soil reclamation operators. The facility will meet and comply with all local, State, and Federal regulations. The majority of feedstock deliveries to the facility will occur wring normal business hours, however the facility will operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. ft will be staffed with necessary personnel at all times for routine operations and site security.
