Dear County Commissioners:
On July 10, 1979, Ron Miller of the Soil Conservation Service,
Gil Olson, Engineering Department of Colorado, and myself made
an inspection of land owned by Jonitell Brothers, recently purchased
by Mr. Thomas.
The enclosed map shows the land that has been broken out,
along with the soil classification.
The land that we saw broken up was left in as good a shape as
possible to prevent wind erosion after the first operation. Mr.
Thomas made an effort to not break out land that was not cropland
capable.
From the visual inspection, I could not see visible signs of
wind erosion.
When the land is worked the second and third times, I am sure
it will be more susceptible to wind erosion than it is at the present
time.
Hope that the enclosed material will be of benefit to you as
to the capabilities of the land that has been broken out.
