Home My WebLink About750461.tiff RESOLUTION WHEREAS, pursuant to law, the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, is vested with the responsibility of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, there are many areas of dilapidated and substandard housing in Weld County, Colorado, and that the Burger-Fry Subdivision in Weld County, Colorado, is in such a state of deterioration, and WHEREAS, there are federal funds available for purposes of land acquisition and relocation of persons living in such areas pursuant to Federal Housing and Urban Development Programs, and WHEREAS, the County of Weld, State of Colorado, has submitted a Community Development Application for funding of the acquisition and re- location of the Burger-Fry Subdivision, specifically described as being a part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 5, Township 5 North, Range 65 West of the 6th P. M. , Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, said application came on for hearing on April 28, 1975, and on May 12, 1975, respectively, as provided for by law, and the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Weld having heard the testimony and evidence of the inhabitants of said area adduced upon said hearings, and having considered the testimony and evidence filed with said Board, and having carefully weighed the same, finds and determines as follows: 1 . That there are a substantial number of occupied units in said Burger-Fry Subdivision in Weld County that fail to provide adequate space, plumbing facilities and structurally safe living quarters, and that there is a need to eradicate these blighted areas by acquiring the properties and extend- ing grant and loan programs to relocate those persons into safe and decent housing, and 2, That there is a need to work cooperatively with the City of Greeley and the Greeley Urban Renewal Authority in the acquisition of the property and the relocation of persons living in the Burger-Fry Subdivision, a sub- division of land in Weld County, Colorado, located immediately adjacent to the east city limits of Greeley, Colorado. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, and it hereby declares it to be in the best interests of the County to apply for a $100, 000. 00 Community De- velopment Grant to be used for the acquisition of the property known as Burger-Fry Subdivision and to relocate those persons living therein. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board be, and it hereby is authorized to work cooperatively with the City of Greeley and the Greeley Urban Renewal Authority in the acquisition of the land and the relocation of persons in the Burger-Fry Subdivision. 750461 The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 2lstday of May, A.D. , 1975.
