MEMORANDUM k•'*.i•••ru- TO: Board of Commissioners DATE: April 1, 2016 G©u FROM: Jay McDonald, Director of Public Works SUBJECT: Mining Services/Koenig Gravel Pit, B1600057 A total of nine bids were received for Mining Services at the Koenig Gravel Pit and ranged in price from $2,971,655.91 to $12,505,585.65. Hall-Irwin Corporation was the low bidder at a total cost of$2,971,655.91 for mining pit run material, mileage, and stockpiling. The 2016 budgeted amount for mining services at the Koenig Gravel pit is $2,350,000.00. There is also $500,000 for crushing Koenig material in this year's budget. Since we are stockpiling material at the Hokestra Pit, we do not need to crush this material and after discussions with Don Warden, would like to add this to the budgeted amount for mining services at the Koenig Pit. Hall-Irwin Corporation has agreed to perform the work at the budgeted amount of$2,350.000.00 or up to $2,850,000.00. The Public Works Department recommends that the bid for Mining Services at the Koenig Gravel pit be awarded to Hall-Irwin Corporation at a total cost of$2,850,000.00.
