Home My WebLink About20162242.tiffRESOLUTION RE: APPROVE CONTRACT FOR OUTDOOR ADVERTISING AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - LAMAR COMPANIES WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Contract for Outdoor Advertising between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Public Health and Environment, and Lamar Outdoor Advertising, commencing July 1, 2016, and ending September 30, 2016, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said contract, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said contract, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Agreement for Outdoor Advertising between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Public Health and Environment, and Lamar Companies, be and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to sign said contract. Wallace, MD, MPH Executive Director Department of Public Health & Environment DATE: July 7, 2016 SUBJECT: Contract with Lamar for outdoor advertising of "Go Play Outside —Discover Weld" For the Board's and approval is a contract between Lamar and the Weld County Board of Commissioners on behalf of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment (WCDPHE). The health department has partnered with Jennifer Finch and Discover Weld to cross promote tourism, economic development, and physical activity via the Discover Weld initiative. The summer initiative includes promoting family bike rides, farmer's markets, and other outdoor activities for families in Weld County. A marketing effort includes using the County Face Book page and outdoor billboards along Highway 257 (Windsor), Highway 52 (Dacono), Highway 85 (Fort Lupton and Platteville), and Highway 34 (Greeley). The Lamar contract provides seven (7) outdoor billboards for two (2) months; Lamar is providing three billboards at no charge. The contract of $9,200 begins in July and runs for two months. This contract was approved for placement on the Board's agenda via pass -around dated July 1, 2016.
