Re: Nomination of Terasina White for "Office Manager, Cindy Nelson Award"
Tom,
It is our distinct pleasure to nominate Terasina White, Office Administrator for the Weld County
District Attorney's Office, for the "Office Manager, Cindy Nelson Award." To demonstrate how
deserving Terasina is of this award, every supervisor in the office has signed and endorsed this
nomination letter.
Terasina began her service to the people of Weld County on July 6, 1999 as a secretary assigned
to county court. Almost immediately her supervisors recognized her hard work, dedication to the
position, and value to the Office, and she was promoted to a district court secretary position. She
very quickly became an expert in all aspects of not only her job as a district court secretary, but
also served as the backup intake secretary and secretary to the District Attorney. During this
time she was also the Crimes Against Children Secretary, and was clerically responsible for all
First Degree Murder cases.
In 2007, Terasina was promoted to the position of Office Administrator. In that role, she
continued to serve as the secretary for the District Attorney and Assistant District Attorney. As
if that is not difficult enough, she supervises all clerical positions within the office, she is
responsible for many of the financial aspects (invoices, subpoena costs, discovery revenue, etc.)
of the office, prepares a majority of our budgets, processes and trains new employees, and acts as
Human Relations Director for the Office. To give an exhaustive list of all of Terasina's
responsibilities would be an exercise in futility. Her greatest qualities are her work ethic and
determination to make this office the best she possibly can. Rarely a weekend goes by without a
slew of emails to me and the other supervisors...a clear indication that she is working for hours
on Saturday or Sunday.
During the recent transition from one District Attorney and administration to another, Terasina
was a rock. What could have been a tumultuous and disorganized time rather was a seamless
and smooth transition because of her leadership and organization.
2016-3092
Terasina's greatest contribution to this office, and to law enforcement agencies and District
Attorney's Offices around the state has been in her role in developing first the e -subpoena
system, and second, the paperless office project with CDAC.
Terasina has served on the Action User's subcommittee for years. However, as the project
manager for the District Attorney's Office, she has immersed herself in the technological aspects
of the project, has worked with developers to match the technology to accepted business
practices of the various offices, has piloted the project in our office to work out the bugs with
CDAC IT, and has become a recognized expert in this area for other office administrators around
the state.
While I am quite sure that virtually every office has an administrator with many, if not all of the
responsibilities that Terasina has, she has distinguished herself time and time again through her
dedication and commitment to the paperless project.
In our humble estimation, there is no person more deserving of an award named after Cindy
Nelson than Terasina White. None of the individuals signing below could ever hope to do our
jobs without the professionalism, dedication and expertise that she brings to the office every day.
Please feel free to contact any of us with questions or requests for additional information.
Sincerely,
